Re-telling untold stories

Unveiling our resources at Highbury Hall
Untold stories learning resource, about Birmingham's wounded soldiers from World War One, was formally launched on Tuesday 13th sept at Highbury Hall - one of the many military hospitals explored as part of the project.

As part of the project Rachel Gillies was responsible for filming project parts and edited a short film to launch the resources - see below

Birmingham played a key role in treating wounded soldiers, and as several participants noted the untold stories project relates to many others running as part of the centenary of World War One.  Alan from Living memory project commented:
I am keen to make connection with your project and the ambition of Living Memory that more people visit Commonwealth War Graves Commission Graves. It's of national significance. I ask this given that the reason high numbers in Birmingham is due to the Hospitals that you have researched.
Untold Stories learning resources were made available at the event, and will soon be available online along with a range of other resources and film clips from the project.   Peoples Heritage Cooperative are keen to continue the work we have begun in raising awareness of our wounded soldiers, their stories and the importance to our history in Birmingham and understanding, issues of warfare more broadly both in our past, present and future.
