Edwardian Baths saved and restored

Byron Jackson opening ceremony!
Stirchley Baths were officially opened on 14th January 2016, or strictly speaking, the re-opening of the Baths after some 105 years!
Richard and I attended this official ceremony as Stirchley Baths reappeared in its new guise as a community centre with halls, meeting rooms, cinema space and café.

During the restoration of the building many original features and materials were saved or re-created and so we can admire original tiles, bathing cubicles and some spectacular windows and cupolas.

With its location close to Bournville railway station, on several bus routes and with a car park, perhaps we’ll sample the facilities at a PHC meeting later in 2016!

  1. I've posted more photos of the opening ceremony here: http://www.banting-family.org.uk/blog/posts/stirchley-baths-opening-ceremony It was a wonderful occasion, celebrating the building's heritage but also looking to the future.
